[PUBLIC ADVISORY FOR DESSIMINATION]

At 10:00 AM today , the Low Pressure Area was estimated at 205 km East of Guiuan, Eastern Samar (11.1°N, 127.6°E). It is forecast to move generally west-northwestward towards Eastern Visayas and may likely reach the said area this afternoon. The LPA may likely develop into Tropical Depression "TONYO" within the next 36 hours.

The possibility that this LPA will be upgraded into a tropical depression when it is near or over the Philippine landmass is not ruled out. In such an event, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal #1 will be immediately hoisted in the initial Severe Weather Bulletin. Hazards affecting land areas Today, moderate to heavy with at times intense rains will be experienced over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Samar.

Light to moderate with at times heavy rains may prevail over CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Mindanao, and the rest of Visayas. Flooding (including flashfloods), rain-induced landslides, and sediment-laden streamflows (i.e. lahar) may occur during heavy or prolonged rainfall especially in areas that are highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards and/or those that received significant antecedent rainfall from tropical cyclones PEPITO, QUINTA & ROLLY.

PAGASA Regional Services Divisions may issue local thunderstorm/rainfall advisories and heavy rainfall warnings while the Hydrometeorology Division and River Basin Flood Forecasting and Warning Centers may issue General Flood Advisories and Basin Flood Bulletins as appropriate.

Hazards affecting coastal waters Today, the Low Pressure Area and the Easterlies will bring moderate to rough seas (2.0 to 3.5 m) over the seaboards of northern Quezon (including the northern and eastern coastal waters of Polillo Islands) and Camarines Norte, the northern seaboard of Camarines Sur, the northern and eastern seaboards of Catanduanes, and the eastern seaboards of Albay (including Rapu-Rapu Islands), Sorsogon, Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, and Siargao Islands. Mariners of small seacrafts are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea. Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions.

The public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take precautionary measures and watch for the next update on this weather disturbance to be incorporated in the 24-Hour Public Weather Forecast at 4:00 PM today and 4:00 AM tomorrow.

The next Weather Advisory will be issued at 11:00 AM tomorrow.
