NEWS BITES — A Cebu City police official reminded the public that on Valentine's Day, February 14, that individuals should not go on physical dates with anyone to avoid the spread of the coronavirus disease. That is unless that person shows a negative COVID-19 swab test result.
This was the reminder issued by an official of the Philippine National Police (PNP) for lovebirds and singles alike as Valentine's Day approaches.
Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) deputy director for operations PLtCol. Wilbert Parilla advised singles to stay at home and not go on dates with anyone to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
He also added that couples can continue with Valentine's celebration through "virtual means" so as not to contract the COVID-19 virus.
Aside from averting the virus, Parilla also emphasized having security for all couples and especially those meeting in person for the first time.
“Ayaw lang sa mo og meet pero kung naa siyay dala nga negative result sa swab test, aw go ta diha, (Don't meet the person unless he/she have a negative result of COVID-19 swab test.” Parilla jokingly said. iTacloban with reports from SuperBalita Cebu and FREEMAN
