TACLOBAN CITY — The city's information office posted on Tuesday that the Committee on Transportation sights passage of Tacloban's towing ordinance to address the problems of congestion and illegal parking, which is rampant.
The long-overdue proposed ordinance has been certified by Mayor Alfred Romualdez as urgent since July of last year.
In a recent radio interview with the Chair of the Committee on Transportation, Councilor Leo Bahin shared that the ordinance is already for its 2nd reading and legal consultation.
Last February 11, the Sanggunian conducted a public hearing for the said ordinance inviting Barangay Chairpersons in the downtown area. The esteemed body has also invited some businessmen but to no avail.
Other ordinances in the pipeline are proposed pay parking and route plan for tricycles, pedicabs, and electric pedicabs. —Tacloban News Update with reports from Tacloban-CIO/R.D. Ortega
