TACLOBAN CITY –– A government employee of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) - Tacloban City died after his motorcycle crashed at a mini dump truck on Monday morning, April 12, according to a report from Inquirer.
The road mishap happened along the National Highway in Barangay Abango, Barugo town, Leyte.
In the news report, Captain Luis Hatton, Chief of the Barugo Police Station, identified the victim as Rogelio Mondido, 50, a BFAR employee. In their initial investigation, the two vehicles crossed the same lane from Carigara, Leyte to Barugo, when Mondido tried to overtake the mini dump truck.
However, the said truck maneuvered to the other side of the road and hit Mondido with his motorcycle.

The victim was then brought to the nearby district hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
