Tacloban City (PR) – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Tacloban City District Engineering Office (TCDEO) – continues with the improvement of the access road leading to La Villa Francisco Mountain Resort as Phase 2 of the construction starts.
La Villa Francisco Resort is one of the local tourist destinations visited by tourists from the different parts of the region and even across the country. They are located at Brgy. 100 San Roque, Diit, Tacloban City and is considered to be one vital contributor to the local economy through their tourism services.
The project would include concreting of the road up to 1.356 km. in length and is currently at 25% work accomplished. The implementation of the project is under the DPWH-Department of Tourism (DOT) convergence program or the Tourism Road Infrastructure Program (TRIP) with funding from the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2021 in the amount of 9.7 million.
“The Tacloban City District Engineering Office recognizes the vital contribution of various local tourism sites and would continuously support programs that aim to improve road accessibility geared towards boosting and enhancing the potential of our local tourist destinations,” DE Gonzalez.
The Tourism Road Infrastructure Program (TRIP) is in consonance with the National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP) mainly to improve access and connectivity to tourism gateways, service centers, and tourism sites. (DPWH-TCDEO/PRESS RELEASE)
