TACLOBAN CITY — Tacloban's Fishery Law Enforcement Team recovered 12 planks of woods made from Lauaan from illegal loggers during their regular seaborne patrol at Cancabato and San Pedro Bay.
The enforcement team led by Chief Operation Officer Ismael Ambe along with PNP Staff Sgt. Mario Abasola spotted an abandoned motorized banca along the shores of Alimasag in San Jose. It contained illegal lumber with an estimated worth of P20,000.
Meanwhile, Dave Castillo, Head of Fishery Law Enforcement Team of Tacloban, told Bombo Radyo that they strictly monitor illegal deliveries of the said lumber. They immediately surveyed the area where they found the unlawful lumbers after someone tipped them of possible delivery to Samar.
