TACLOBAN CITY — Based on the reported data of the Department of Health - Eastern Visayas (DOH-EV), from June 14 to June 19, 2021, 11 señior citizens have died of COVID-19
The new deaths include a 97-year old woman from Burauen, Leyte who died on June 10; an 80-year old man from Hinundayan, Southern Leyte who died on June 14; an 80-year old woman from Hindang, Leyte who died on June 8; an 88-year old man from Tacloban City who died on June 12; and a 77-year-old male from Pinabacdao, Samar who died on June 11, 2021.
COVID-19 cases in the region also increased as the DOH reported another record-breaking tally of single-day cases today, June 19, at 606. Seven (7) deaths and 284 new recoveries were also recorded.
The age group of 50-64, 65-74, 75-84, and 85+ are the ones who are at risk of dying from COVID-19 infection, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the U.S.

June 14, 2021 — a 56-year old male from Naval, Biliran died on June 12, 2021; a 67-year old male from Paranas, Samar died on June 12, 2021, and; a 77-year old male from Pinabacdao, Samar died on June 11, 2021.
June 15, 2021 — an 89-year old female from Javier, Leyte died on June 2, 2021, and; an 88-year old male from Tacloban City died on June 12, 2021.
June 16, 2021 — a 58-year old male from Naval, Biliran died on June 10, 2021; a 78-year-old female from Maripipi, Biliran died on June 11, 2021; an 88-year old female from Hindang, Leyte died on June 8, 2021, and; an 80-year old male from Hinundayan, Southern Leyte died on June 14, 2021.
June 17, 2021 — a 58-year old male from Llorente, Eastern Samar died on June 15, 2021, and; a 52-year old male from Ormoc City died on June 15, 2021.
June 18, 2021 — a 56-year old male from Tacloban City died on June 4, 2021.
