TACLOBAN CITY — Authorities successfully arrested Leyte's top 4 most wanted people on June 5, 2021, at Camachile St, CAA, Las Piñas City. The suspect was identified as Estercacio "Ester" Oriol, 83 years old, widow, jobless, and residing in the said city.
He was listed as Top 4 Most Wanted Person, Regional Level of PRO 8 pursuant to warrants of arrest issued against him for two counts of rape and 3 counts of rape through sexual assault, which was issued by a court in Carigara Leyte.
After the arrest, the accused was brought to Las Pinas City Police Station for documentation before being brought to Barugo Municipal Police Station in Barugo Leyte for temporary custody while waiting for a commitment order and returning the warrant of arrest to the court of origin.
NCRPO Director PMGen Vicente D. Danao Jr. commended elements of RIU-8, PNP-IG, RIU-8, personnel of RID PRO 8, personnel of PIU-LPPO, personnel of 2nd LPMFC l, personnel of 804th MC RMFB-8, personnel of RIU-NCR, personnel of WSS Las Pinas CPS and CAA Sub Station for the successful arrest.
"I commend the elements of the units concerned for the successful arrest of this accused charged with multiple cases of rape in the province of Leyte. We have once again proven our commitment to arrest wanted persons hiding here in Metro Manila.
