PASIG CITY (PR) -- Amid travel restrictions and connectivity issues, the Department of Education (DepEd) reported that around 4.5 million learners registered early for School Year 2020-2021, achieving a 99% turnout compared to last year’s figure.
As stated in DepEd Order No. 3, s. 2018, otherwise known as the Basic Education Enrollment Policy, the Early Registration was introduced to help the Department anticipate the number of enrollees for the coming school year.
For the safety of learners, parents, and personnel, the Department conducted its early registration by utilizing communication platforms like Facebook chats, text messaging, and drop-boxes in schools or barangays this year.
