TACLOBAN CITY – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Tacloban City District Engineering Office (TCDEO) – continues to develop school infrastructure despite the cancellation of face-to-face classes.
DPWH-TCDEO envisions to provide schools with complete facilities that would help the students learn and grow active intellectually and physically in school as they course through their primary academic journey.
In the amount of PHP 5.6-million, the project was able to complete the construction of a 420 sqm multi-purpose building to serve as a covered court for Sto. Niño SPED Center. Completion of the project was on June 1, 2021, financed under the General Appropriations Act of 2021.
Sto. Niño SPED Center is one of the city’s premier primary education institutions composed of model students with exemplary performance in both curricular and extracurricular activities.
As ADE Yuse explained, “DPWH-TCDEO seized this opportunity to provide our schools with their needed facilities to support the students and teachers with their curricular and extra-curricular tasks. By the time the situation gets better, this project will provide the students a safe place where they can gather and perform various school activities.” (DPWH - TCDEO/PRESS RELEASE)
