TACLOBAN CITY — As the local government continues to expand its vaccination program, a total of 114,521 doses of the coronavirus disease (COVID19) vaccine have been administered to city residents, with 54,437 of the targeted population now fully vaccinated.
The figure includes those who received the single-dose Janssen vaccine, which totaled 10,517 people, according to information provided by the City Health Office on Thursday, September 23.
Meanwhile, 60,084 people have received the first dose, and 43,920 received the required two doses. Preference groups for vaccination include health care workers (A1), senior citizens (A2), people with comorbidities (A3), indigent population (A5), and other groups with a high risk of contracting the disease.
Individuals who were vaccinated in hospitals, however, are not included in the figures as mentioned above.
In the meantime, it is recommended that the general public, including those who have received vaccinations, continue to adhere to the minimum health standards because vaccines do not replace the key preventive measures currently being implemented. —Tacloban News Update (Source: Tacloban-CIO/City Health Office)
