TACLOBAN CITY — Tacloban City's local government, through its #Resbakuna team, rolled out an inoculation activity for college students on Thursday, October 21, in preparation for the eventual return of face-to-face classes.
At Robinsons Place in Marasbaras, 190 students aged 18 and up from Eastern Visayas State University (100) and Leyte Colleges (90) were scheduled to receive their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine brand.
The move was made in collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Health Eastern Visayas (DOH), as both organizations provided a master list of those who are eligible for vaccination.
As part of the vaccination rollout, another group of students from HEIs will be served on Friday, October 22, to help boost herd immunity and prepare the younger population, or those aged 12 to 17, for inoculation in mid-November.
Last week Tacloban LGU was able to fully vaccinate more than 70,000 individuals through its vaccination efforts. —Tacloban News Update (Source: Tacloban-CIO)
