TACLOBAN CITY - The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has signed a contract with DAVAO METRO SHUTTLE CORPORATION under the Service Contracting Program to provide free rides to healthcare workers and authorized persons outside residence (APORs).
Davao Metro Shuttle Corporation will operate twenty-five (25) modern public utility vehicles on two routes. Ten (10) units will travel from Tacloban City to Calbayog (and vice versa), and fifteen (15) units will travel from Ormoc City to Sogod, Southern Leyte (vice versa).
The 'Libreng Sakay' ride will start from 5:00 a.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m.
Said initiative of DOTr through the Service Contracting Program (SCP) program aims to increase the availability of quick, safe, and efficient service on covered routes and other modes of public transportation.
In the meantime, anyone wishing to use the Free Ride must present identification or any other document to provide proof that they are a healthcare worker or APOR.
At all times during the trip, all riders are expected to adhere to standard health protocols, which include wearing a face Mask, face shield, and physical distancing. —Tacloban News Update (Source: LTFRB-8)
