TACLOBAN CITY — The City Government of Tacloban opened The Tacloban City Convention Center (Tacloban Astrodome) as a Mega Vaccination Center for residents who want to be vaccinated against COVID-19 on Monday, October 18, 2021.
Mayor Alfred Romualdez wished everyone a Merry Christmas during the opening of the Mega Vaccination Center, as it will be safer to celebrate the Holiday Season after getting their vaccine shots.
Along with its opening comes the beginning of accepting "walk-ins," as it is open to all Tacloban residents aged 18 and up. They will only need to bring a valid government-issued ID or a Barangay Certificate.
According to City Health Office (CHO) OIC Dr. Gloria Fabrigas, the Tacloban Astrodome is the "ideal" vaccination center. It can accommodate and vaccinate up to 5,000 people every day, except on Sundays and holidays.
Those inoculated will be relieved to sit and wait because the vaccination site is spacious and not hot.

The local executive also wants Tacloban to be open to those who are qualified and want to get vaccinated in the city.
Simultaneously, Robinsons North and Robinsons Marasbaras continue their vaccination activity for those scheduled through www.safecity.tacloban.gov.ph.
All vaccination centers will close at 2 p.m. for registration and verification. Meanwhile, the Tacloban City Health Office encourages all Taclobanons who are eligible to get vaccinated so that everyone can enjoy a safer and happier holiday season. —Tacloban News Update (Source: Tacloban - CIO)
