TACLOBAN CITY — DepEd Tacloban took another step toward the possibility of having limited face-to-face classes, as learners aged 12 to 17 from the various District Learning Centers received their first dose of Pfizer vaccine on November 16, 2021, at the Mega Vaccination Center in Astrodome.
Dr. Mariza S. Magan, Schools Division Superintendent, expressed her joy over the 1,170 Taclobanon young learners who received the COVID-19 jab, noting that her agency has been preparing for the implementation of limited face-to-face classes once the government approves it.
"We are positive that soon F2F classes will commence for our junior and senior high school students. We are also preparing our schools for this to happen, complying with all the requirements for the said learning scheme," Dr. Magan shared.
Dr. Magan, who has been in regular communication with CHO Chief Dr. Gloria Fabrigas to arrange the vaccination rollout for the students, has stated that she, along with the teachers and parents, is grateful for prioritizing the students of Tacloban.
"I am very much thankful to our LGU and Mayor Alfred Romualdez for this pro-active and timely response to ensure that our learners will be vaccinated," says Dr. Magan, who hopes that all students in Tacloban will receive their shots.
Meanwhile, Fabrigas, who has stated that the LGU aims to reach the full target vaccination coverage by the end of the month, has been working closely with TCH Chief Dr. Joedina Gumagay, who heads the Mobile Vaccination Team in Tacloban. —Tacloban News Update (Source: Tacloban-CIO)
