TACLOBAN CITY — To commemorate the Department of Labor and Employment's 88th founding anniversary on December 8, 2021 under the theme "Tuloy-tuloy na pagTUPAD sa serbisyong tapat!" DOLE Regional Office No. 8 will host a Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Job Fair at the Robinsons Place Mall in Marasbaras.
To commemorate the department's milestone, a brief commemorative program will be held before the job fair, typically attended by representatives from the region's labor and management sectors.
Henry John S. Jalbuena, Regional Director, invites all interested job seekers and employers to participate in the nationwide job fair.
“I am urging all our jobseekers in Eastern Visayas to grab the opportunity and join the job fair on December 8. There are already job vacancies waiting for you”, said Jalbuena.
Since the job fair is now a face-to-face activity, Director Jalbuena stated that safety and health protocols will be followed throughout the activity.

As of December 2, twelve local employers had already expressed their interest and submitted 536 job openings, including Earthgrain Inc. (Goldilocks Tacloban), Chen Yi Agriventures, ARDCI Microfinance, Ace Hardware Tacloban, MBS Transport Service Inc., Saint Michael Manpower General Services, Jucons Construction, LIDE Management Corp., Leyte Communication Training Center, and Machica Group.
Some of the job openings are production crew, farm administrator, store supervisor, cashier, sales assistant, legal assistant, driver, merchandiser, automotive mechanic, field operator, call center agents, and audit tax associates.
DOLE-RO8 will also be recruiting interns for its Government Internship Program (GIP), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is looking to hire a chemist.
Additionally, TUPAD wages will be paid to some DOLE-North Leyte beneficiaries during the job fair. (Source: DOLE-RO8)
