TACLOBAN CITY — Mayor Alfred Romualdez assures Taclobanons that the city's economy is thriving despite the pandemic's drawbacks, according to a media release from the City Information Office.
In a message delivered during the Department of Labor and Employment's 88th founding anniversary, the chief executive emphasized how the City Government has been working to increase job creation in Tacloban by inviting additional investors.
"As your Mayor, I try very much to even the playing field of the City of Tacloban by inviting investors to come in. I can say na maganda naman 'yung takbo ng ekonomiya natin," Mayor Romualdez said, emphasizing the importance of devoting one's time and energy to whatever job comes one's way.
"Naniniwala ako na kailangang mag-invest ng gobyerno sa tao, kaya the City Government focuses on that. [I believe that the government should invest in people, so the City Government focuses on that.] We have allocated almost 500 jobs sa Norte" Romualdez added.
He then congratulated and thanked DOLE Region 8, which has always partnered with the city government, along with DTI and PESO, in assisting Taclobanons with job-related needs.
Meanwhile, DOLE-R8 commemorated their founding anniversary on December 8, 2021, by holding a job fair at Robinsons North-Abucay in conjunction with the TUPAD Ceremonial Awarding to 228 beneficiaries.
