TACLOBAN CITY — Tacloban was named the country's second most improved highly urbanized city for the 2021 Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index at the "9th Regional Competitiveness Summit of the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI)" earlier today, December 14, 2021.
This annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities is developed by the National Competitiveness Council with assistance from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs).
Four (4) pillars are used to determine an LGU's overall competitiveness through the Regional Competitiveness Committees of the National Competitiveness Council. These are as follows: Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, and Resilience.
Tacloban City has risen four places from its position in the previous year's ranking. —Tacloban News Update
