TACLOBAN CITY – A group of individuals who appear to be teenagers and some members of the LGBTQ+ community mauled a female in GMA Village, Brgy. 106, Tacloban City, on Thursday night, January 27, 2022.
Said incident was captured on video and shared on social media by a Facebook user named "Nortehanon Baya." The video quickly went viral, prompting authorities to search for the aforementioned individuals.
The victim, alias Mara, was originally from Eastern Samar and was allegedly in Tacloban City looking for work.
She sustained fractures as a result of the maulers' physical assault.
Meanwhile, several of the suspects have been identified as teenagers, and authorities are still awaiting the social welfare office's decision.
One of the suspects' parents was interviewed by EV Journal and stated that she is unaware of her daughter's activities because she is not always at home. She also urged her daughter to return home and face the accusations leveled against her. —Tacloban News Update
