Tacloban City elevates to Alert Level 3; now requires vaccination card for entry

Vaccination cards are now required for entry into Tacloban City establishments, while non-vaccinated individuals can only access essential goods and services.

TACLOBAN CITY – Tacloban City is now on Alert Level 3 due to the threat of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus disease. As a result, Mayor Alfred Romualdez issued an Executive Order on January 13 imposing new restrictions on the city.

According to E.O. 2022-01-001, as required by IATF guidelines and other relevant national issuances, all persons must continue to wear face masks and practice social distancing.

Nonfully vaccinated persons' movement shall be restricted to accessing essential goods and services or working in permitted industries and offices in accordance with existing labor laws, rules, and regulations.

Fully vaccinated Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APORs), Returning Tacloban Residents (RTRs), tourists, and transients traveling to Tacloban City from outside Region 8 will be allowed to enter the city upon presentation of their vaccination cards.

Individuals who have not been fully vaccinated must present either a negative RT-PCR test administered within 72 hours or a negative COVID Antigen Test administered within 24 hours prior to their arrival in Tacloban City.

In addition to the mandatory Tacloban City SCAN system QR Code, all business establishments must require their customers, clients, and patrons to present their vaccination cards. Individuals who have not been fully vaccinated will not be permitted to enter except for the purpose of procuring essential goods and services. —Tacloban News Update
