TACLOBAN CITY – At least 46 schools in Tacloban City have been recommended for inclusion in the expanded phase of face-to-face classes, according to a memorandum from the Department of Education - Tacloban City Division.

In response to the Department of Education Memorandum No. 071, s. 2021, titled "Preparation for the Pilot Face-to-Face, Expansion and Transitioning to New Normal," the Tacloban City Division endorsed the city's 46 schools to the DepEd Regional Office as a result of the validation conducted by the Division Composite team.

The schools listed have been deemed prepared for the expansion phase of limited face-to-face classes.

In a social media post, the DepEd Tacloban City Division acknowledged the readiness of one of Tacloban's high schools, the Leyte National High School, for F2F classes.

With over 9,000 students, Leyte High, as it is affectionately known around the city, has been preparing classrooms and other school facilities to welcome back students for weeks now, closely adhering to the mandates stipulated in DepEd Memorandum No. 071, s 2021 in said preparations, which served as the basis of the Division Office's assessment.

According to the Department of Education Regional Office, on Tuesday, February 15, at least 62 schools in Eastern Visayas were holding limited face-to-face classes as of February 2022. —Tacloban News Update
