TACLOBAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Eastern Visayas
continues to stockpile Family Food Packs (FFPs) in anticipation of the possible effects of the low-pressure area (LPA).
Currently, DSWD has stored 24,939 FFPs. They are stockpiled in various warehouses at strategic locations throughout Eastern Visayas Region.
The LPA was last seen 195 kilometers east of Surigao Del Sur, according to PAGASA. It has a low chance of developing into a Tropical Depression in the next 24-48 hours, but it will bring heavy rains, which will increase the risk of flooding and landslides in the affected area.
The Disaster Response Management Division of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Eastern Visayas continues to monitor the movement of this LPA. —Tacloban News Update (Source: DSWD -8)
