The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Tacloban City District Engineering Office (TCDEO) – completes the construction of flood mitigation/riverbank protection in Brgy. Camansihay, one of the designated housing areas for displaced families affected by the Super Typhoon Yolanda.
The Php 9.6-million project, covered under the 2021 General Appropriations Act, includes stone masonry spanning to 137 meters which will serve as a physical barrier that will protect the riverbank area and divert the flow of water from the river preventing inundation of floodplains.

“The office has the highest consideration for the safety of our residents in the northern barangays which is why such projects are considered a priority. DPWH-TCDEO aims to provide all the possible help we can give to ensure the safety of the families and protection of their properties,” said DE Acosta. (DPWH-TCDEO)
