TACLOBAN CITY – 104 Certificates of Confirmation were distributed to beneficiaries of land tenure for families in Barangay 3 Upper Nula-Tula, Tacloban City, on Tuesday, April 5.
The distribution of COCs is part of the land tenure award activity mandated by R.A. 7279, or the Urban Development and Housing Act of 1992. In the 1990s, the City Government of Tacloban funded socialized housing projects and resettlement programs for these beneficiaries.
R.A. 7279 mandates a state policy to undertake a comprehensive and continuing "Urban Development & Housing Program" that shall provide urban land's rational use and development and guarantee the security of tenure.
The activity was attended by the City Mayor's Office representative Atty. Agnes Pacheco, City Housing Office OIC Mr. Leonard Tedence Jopson, PCUP representative Ms. Sheryll Mate, Brgy. 3 Chairman Hon.
