TACLOBAN CITY – A 20-year-old man was arrested for alarm, scandal, and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition during a riot in Guadalupe Village, Brgy. 105, San Isidro Suhi, Tacloban City on Saturday, April 23.
Police identified the suspect as alias "Sonny Boy," male, single, 20 years old, and a resident of the said village. Recovered from him was a caliber .38 revolver with no serial number and three live ammunition.
After receiving a call from a concerned citizen, members of Tacloban City Police Office (TCPO) - Police Station 3 conducted an anti-criminality operation through mobile patrol at 5:00 p.m., led by PLT ANGELO LEO SILVESTRECE, under the supervision of PMAJ JOSE B GALLANES JR, Station Commander.
When the responding officers arrived at the scene, they saw two warring groups exchanging stones; they retreated when they saw the approaching police patrol car and scampered in different directions.
Fortunately, they were able to apprehend the suspect after a brief chase.
The police said that the suspect was informed of his constitutional rights before being taken to Police Station 3 with the exhibits for proper documentation and disposition. —Tacloban News Update
