TACLOBAN CITY – A woman allegedly accompanying a patient attempted suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of one of the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center's (EVMC) buildings in Tacloban City on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.
According to PS Balita, the woman was identified by Police Major Winrich Laya Lim, Commander of Tacloban City - Police Station 2, as Cresilda Balasanos Cinco, 43, unemployed and resident of Brgy. 103 Palanog of the said city.
PMaj Lim said that the woman was seen outside the window at approximately 6:40 a.m. attempting to jump from the fourth floor of the building, and responding personnel from the Tacloban City PNP and the Bureau of Fire Protection tried to rescue her.
After several hours of conversing with the woman, PCpl Samson Bolivar, PCpl Mariel John Daza, PSSg Jerson Rosales, and a Bureau of Fire Protection staff member, SFO3 Sommy Cormero, were able to save her.
The woman was then turned over to the hospital for medical treatment.
Following the incident, the Philippine National Police (PNP) assures that they will not abandon their concern for their fellow countrymen, particularly when providing immediate assistance to those in need, even when their lives are at risk. —Tacloban News Update (Source: PS Balita)
