TACLOBAN CITY– The Precinct Finder will go live on Friday, April 22, according to Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Commissioner George Erwin M. Garcia in a statement today, April 21.
"DICT called us a while ago and told us that the Precinct Finder will be activated tomorrow," he told reporters.
Garcia previously stated that the Comelec Precinct Finder would be available this week.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), in collaboration with COMELEC, previously stated that they intend to host Comelec's online services, such as the online Precinct Finder, in the cloud.
"According to DICT, they are simply repairing Cloudflare to secure the voter verifier," Garcia said to reporters.
He also stated that the DICT encountered a minor technical issue that caused a delay in the activation of Comelec's Precinct Finder and the need to ensure its security from hackers.
The Precinct Finder is available on the poll body's website (http://www.comelec.gov.ph) once it's activated. [You may also read the article "COMELEC Precinct Finder (2022): How to Find Voting Precinct Online?" for more info.] —AJ Yes/Tacloban News Update
