TACLOBAN CITY – A Sangguniang Kabataan chairman allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade was apprehended in Abuyog, Leyte, on April 25.
Diether Billo, a high-value drug personality, was apprehended by joint operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at around 12:50 p.m. in a drug buy-bust in Barangay Salvacion in the said town.
According to PDEA Region VIII, two sachets of suspected shabu weighing 0.1277 grams with an estimated market value of Php 868.00 were confiscated from the suspect.
Billo will face charges for violating RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and is currently detained at the PDEA RO8 Detention Facility. —Tacloban News Update
