TACLOBAN CITY – Three people were killed and three others survived when a group of thirteen unidentified armed men opened fire on them as they traversed a road in Calbayog City, Samar, on Monday, April 25.
During the shooting incident, the victims were riding a motorcycle taxi or habal-habal.
The victims were identified as Mart Vicentino, 34, of Brgy. San Antonio, Calbayog City; Germa Wahingon, 22; and Nilda de Pedro, 48, all of Brgy. Camperito, Sta. Margarita, Samar, according to a police report.
Meanwhile, three individuals escaped the ambush. They are Remedios Diaz, 57; Lerma Dulay, 29; and Julita Casaljay, 68, all residents of Brgy. Camperito, Sta. Margarita, Samar.
The police report added that the armed men stole a black bag containing money from an agricultural business.
After shooting and robbing the victims, the armed group fled to a mountainous area of the province. —Tacloban News Update
