TACLOBAN CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Eastern Visayas distributed Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) to families affected by Typhoon Agaton in Baybay City, Leyte.
Under the direction of the Crisis Intervention Section, DSWD distributed P10,000 cash assistance to families who suffered casualties due to the landslide and P5,000 to displaced families.
Thirty-one (31) recipients were given P10,000, while 52 were given P5,000. The agency was able to distribute a total of P570,000 in the distribution.
According to the agency's latest record, as of April 18, DSWD Eastern Visayas had already distributed 25,548 Family Food Packs. The total value of these FFPs is P16,314,583.56.
On April 16, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte visited the Baybay City Hospital and the evacuation center where the evacuees are temporarily staying after conducting an aerial survey.
The President oversaw the distribution of DSWD Family Food Packs (FFPs) and Non-Food Relief Items (NFIs) with DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista.
“Natutuwa ang puso ko dahil ang gobyerno nagtatrabaho, dahil nakatulong ako sa inyo," the President said.
DSWD Eastern Visayas has distributed 25,548 FFPs totaling P16,314,583.56. Six kilograms of rice, four corned beef, four tuna flakes, two sardines, five coffees, and five energy cereal drinks are included in each FFP.
Kitchen kits, hygiene kits, and family kits are among the NFIs distributed.
