TACLOBAN CITY – Another local road project is now under way in Barangay Caninoan, Pastrana, Leyte. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Leyte Second District Engineering Office plans to pour 1.065 kilometers of Portland Cement Concrete Pavement (PCCP) along the road portion.
According to District Engineer Leo Edward Oppura, the total construction budget of Php 11.54 million will include a total PCCP length of 1.065 kilometers, a thickness of.20 meters, and a width of 5 meters.
“Once completed, this project will also benefit the rice farm owners in the area. They will no longer endure the muddy and slippery road, especially during harvest season wherein bulk sacks of palay are being transported,” Oppura added.
The department-funded local road concreting projects aim to boost local economic growth and provide residents with more opportunities to improve their lives, particularly in terms of transportation. —Tacloban News Update (Source: DPWH/Leyte2/PIO)
