TACLOBAN CITY – The Department of Transportation (DOTr), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region 8, and Visayas Liner have begun rolling out the "Libreng Sakay" program, under the Service Contracting Program Phase 3, for healthcare workers and authorized persons outside residence (APORs) traveling from Ormoc City to Tacloban.
Visayas Liner stated in a comment that the program began on May 14 and will conclude on June 30, 2022.
Those who wish to avail of the "Libreng Sakay" program must visit the terminals in Tacloban City (Robinsons South Bus Terminal) and Ormoc City (Ormoc City Terminal) (Robinsons Ormoc Terminal).
The 'Libreng Sakay' ride will begin each day at 6:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. until its conclusion.
The stated initiative of DOTr's Service Contracting Program (SCP) seeks to increase the availability of prompt, safe, and efficient service on covered routes and other modes of public transportation.
Riders are required to adhere at all times to standard health protocols, including the use of a face mask, face shield, and physical separation. —Tacloban News Update
