Personnel from Tacloban City Police Office (TCPO) - Police Station 2, led by PMaj Winrich Lim, Station Commander PS2, and Hilongos MPS, led by PMaj Dext Edillo, were able to intercept and recover the abandoned vehicle, according to a police report.
It was located at Barangay 68 Rawis Anibong, Tacloban City, and was handed over to the owner, Peter Mari Pepito, 41, of Tayud, Liloan, Cebu Province.
The police report added that on April 25, 2022, a certain "JOHN" rented the said vehicle from the victim's travel service shop, RFF Travel Service, in Tayud Liloan, Province of Cebu, and signed a car rental agreement promising to return it on May 2, 2022.
However, on May 6, 2022, the owner noticed that his vehicle was already in Hilongos, Leyte, via the GPS installed in the vehicle's dashboard, prompting him to contact Hilongos MPS to apprehend the said vehicle.
