TACLOBAN CITY – During a turn-over ceremony that was led by Mayor Alfred Romualdez, 200 bags of Certified Rice Seeds, consisting of 100 bags NSIC RC 222 and 100 bags NSIC RC 480, were given out to RSBSA Registered in Tacloban Agricultural Crops Resource Hub (TACReH), Brgy. 101, New Kawayan.

This was done in order to strengthen the city's rice production.

[I am happy to see our farmers here in Tacloban that even though we are a Highly Urbanized City (HUC) they are successful in agriculture to further strengthen food security here]," Romualdez said in a social media post.

[We are grateful to the Department of Agriculture RFO8 for the seeds provided and for their continued support of us. Apart from the farmers, we also met the people of City Agri led by Mr. Romelo Anade]," he added.

The event took place at the Tacloban Agricultural Crops Resource Hub (TACReH), which is run by the Office of the City Agriculturist and is led by Mr. Romelo "Melong" Anade. —iTacloban (Source: TCIO/Alfred Romualdez Facebook page)
