TACLOBAN CITY – On May 27, 2022, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 8 published a list of additional 2021 Good Financial Housekeeping Passers on its official social media page.
Three (3) provinces, five (5) cities, and forty-five (45) municipalities in Eastern Visayas have met the stringent criteria and standards for Good Financial Housekeeping for Fiscal Year 2021. The DILG Regional Office – VIII congratulated the passers, including the City of Tacloban.
The Good Financial Housekeeping Award recognizes a Local Government Unit's outstanding performance in maintaining fiscal discipline and sustainability, transparency, and accountability in the use of public funds.
Among the criteria are Commission on Audit's audit opinion (qualified or unqualified) and compliance with audit recommendations, compliance with full disclosure policy, and average local revenue growth and utilization of funds.
The DILG – 8 Facebook page sends this message to the Region's three provinces, five cities, and 45 municipalities:
