The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Eastern Visayas, along with its partners, the Philippine National Police, the Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), joined the ocular inspection at the relocation site in Brgy. Maganhan, which was led by the Department of National Defense for the handover of temporary housing for families affected by Typhoon Agaton in Brgy. Kantagnos, Baybay City, Leyte.
There were also FFP and cash assistance distributions by the DSWD Regional Director herself, Grace Q. Subong, as well as non-food items such as family kits, hygiene kits, butane gas and stove from OCD, and tables and chairs from GSAT.
Hon. Ernesto M. Butawan, City Vice Mayor, greets all invited guests for the handover of the temporary shelter project from (OCD to LGU Baybay). Hon. Jose Carlos L. Cari, the City Mayor, enthusiastically accepted the project and expressed his gratitude on behalf of the affected families of Brgy. Kantagnos, Baybay City, Leyte.
Furthermore, the Brgy. Captain, Hon Michelle Cipe, as the community representative, delivered a heartfelt message about the government's unwavering support for their recovery from the devastation caused by Typhoon Agaton.
The program also featured the Guest of Honor, USEC. Ricardo B. Jalad, Administrator of the Department of National Defense, spoke about how the government can improve support for typhoon Agaton victims in Brgy. Kantagnos, Baybay City, Leyte. —iTacloban (Source: DSWD-8)
