TACLOBAN CITY – Recognizing the critical role of Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) in the successful delivery of the department's employment facilitation programs, the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office 8 recently began assisting its PESO Managers in obtaining the Public Employment Services NC IV of the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
Following completion of the TESDA-8 training and assessment on July 21-24, 2022 at the TESDA Training Center in Tacloban, fifteen (15) PESO Managers from various municipalities in Region 8 have already passed and obtained the PES NC IV.
Regional Director Henry John S. Jalbuena, who encouraged PESOs to pursue the PES NC IV, praised all of the PESO Managers who are now certificate holders and urged them to ace the competency assessment in order to become Assessors.
"With the PES NC IV, we can say that our PESO Managers are truly qualified and competent in providing public employment services to our clients, adding value to the work they do," Jalbuena said.
Training Regulations (TR); Competency Assessment Tools (CATs); Validation of Drafted TR and CATs; Finalization of Validated TR and CATs; and National Deployment of Promulgated TR and Developed CATS were among the topics covered by the participants.
To become a full-fledged accredited PES Assessor, the first batch of certificate holders must pass the competency assessment and successfully complete their practicum by "loading" or assisting the next batch of trainees who will take the PES NC IV Assessment.
The PES NC IV Qualification is made up of competencies that must be attained in order to promote full employment facilitation and equal employment opportunities for all. It institutionalizes a line of demarcation between qualified and amateur PESOs.
Aside from the 15 PESO Managers, six DOLE-8 employees have also received the PES NC IV.
