The Department of Public Works and Highways - Samar First District Engineering Office has constructed three (3) Multi-Purpose Buildings (MPB) in Samar's First District, with a total revised contract amount of hp 14.60 million drawn from the General Appropriations Act (GAA) of 2022.
Two (2) multi-purpose buildings were built in the municipality of Gandara, Samar, to serve as barangay halls for the officials of the respective barangays. Concepcion (P4.88 million) and Arong (P4.92 million) are the locations of these completed projects.
Both two-story structures' scope of work includes three (3) restrooms with sinks and a PWD ramp.
With the said structure, residents of the said barangays will find it easier to seek assistance from barangay officials because they will know where to direct their concerns, and these officials will have a venue to better serve their constituents.
Meanwhile, the second phase of another multi-purpose building in Calbayog City's Barangay Mawacat has been completed.
The scope of work for the said facility includes one (1) restroom with two (2) toilets and a stage. The structure is designed as a basketball court that can serve as a community center and a venue for residents, particularly youths, to participate in sports and other recreational activities. —iTacloban (Source: DPWH-8)
