TACLOBAN CITY – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) assists 780 workers from the province of Eastern Samar through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers, or TUPAD Program.
A total of P2,851,680.00 has been allotted for the province's TUPAD implementation.
Ms. Fe Norma D. Valuis, Head of the DOLE-Eastern Samar Field Office, thanked the provincial government of Eastern Samar, represented by Governor Ben P. Evardone, for their support and assistance.
“We are really thankful for the active and supportive leadership of Gov. Evardone, which we believe is important for the successful TUPAD implementation in the province”, said Valuis.
The DOLE-ESFO, through its TUPAD Focal Ms. Salvacion A. Yepez, and in collaboration with Provincial PESO Manager Bryan Arago, has already completed a series of TUPAD and Basic Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) Orientations for all identified beneficiaries in Maslog on September 16, 2022.
Beneficiaries will receive P3,250.00 in wages in addition to TUPAD shirts, buri hats, and face masks provided prior to their short-term employment.
