The Civil Service Commission (CSC) recently announced the civil service examination calendar for 2023, which includes the Career Service Examination for Foreign Service Officers (CSE-FSO) and the Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) for Professional and Sub-Professional Levels.
CSC will administer the Career Service Examination for Foreign Service Officers (CSE-FSO) in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs-Board of Foreign Service Examinations (DFA-BFSE) on February 5, 2023.
Interested applicants may submit their two (2) completed forms (FSO Examination Application Form and Civil Service Form No. 100) at the following locations:
- BSE Secretariat, 2nd Floor, DFA Main Building, Roxas Blvd., Pasay City from October 13 to November 25, 2022 (until 5 pm only); or
- Consular Offices within and outside Metro Manila or Philippine Embassies, Consulates, or Mission Boards from October 13 to November 18, 2022 (until 5 pm only).

The Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT), which includes the Professional and Subprofessional Levels, will draw the most examinees and will be held on March 26 and August 13, 2023.
The application period for the March 26 CSE-PPT will be from December 22, 2022, to January 25, 2023. A special application period is set from 14 to December 21, 2022, for unrefunded examinees of the canceled March 15, 2020, CSE-PPT.
The application period for the August 13 CSE-PPT is set from May 15 to June 14, 2023.
On June 11, 2023, the CSC will also administer the Basic Competency in Local Treasury Examination (BCLTE). The application period will last from March 13 to April 12, 2023. The BCLTE, along with the complementary Intermediate Competency on Local Treasury Examination, is part of the Department of Finance's three-tier Standardized Examination and Assessment for Local Treasury Service (SEAL) Program, administered by the Bureau of Local Government Finance in collaboration with the CSC.
The corresponding examination announcements, which include the list of testing centers, requirements, and application procedure, among other details, will be posted on the CSC website at www.csc.gov.ph; except for the CSE-FSO, which will be issued by the DFA. —iTacloban (Source: CSC)
