In a hybrid press conference on Friday, October 21, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) announced the full implementation of Universal Health Care in Eastern Visayas.
PhilHealth announced in an accomplishment report that their Catbalogan Local Health Insurance office has a registration rate of 94.33%, ranking fifth in Region 8.
Regarding collection performance, Philhealth Samar's August collection totaled P163,384,519.36, falling short of the P181,695,163.88 target.
PhilHealth also announced that, in accordance with Proclamation No. 57 s. 2022, it will continue to grant special privileges due to fortuitous events until December 31, 2022.
"The privileges include submission of claims up to 120 calendar days from the date of discharge, and exemption from the rule of 45-day benefit limit and a single period of confinement," according to the corporation.
Modification of Priority Groups for SARS-CoV-2 Testing Packages, PhilHealth Circular 2022-2018 According to the DOH Guidelines, starting August 31, 2022, priority groups only include A1- Health Care Workers, A2 - Senior Citizens, A3 - comorbidities and high risk for severe disease, and all except A1, A2, and A3 with COVID-19 symptoms.
Meanwhile, PhilHealth Circular 2022-0007 required revisions to the COVID-19 Community Isolation Benefit Package (CCIBP) guidelines.
The benefits package must include "all identified services needed to effectively manage COVID cases requiring isolation, whether suspect, probable confirmed, or mild; it must cover all inputs and activities throughout the entire episode of care, including payment for professional fees, medicine, and so on; and other COVID-19 case rates must cover testing and inpatient services." The package's case rate is P22,449.00.
PhilHealth also encouraged the public to sign up for the PhilHealth Konsulta package, the organization's flagship and primary care benefit package.
