Eastern Visayas travel and tour operators are participating in the first North Luzon Travel Fair, which is currently held at the SMX Convention Center in SM Clark, Pampanga province.
The travel fair is being organized by the Department of Tourism's regional offices in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon in collaboration with the Alliance of Travel and Tour Agencies of Pampanga (ATTAP) to boost tourism recovery.
Three Eastern Visayas travel and tour operators, namely IM Travel and Tours, Viaje Holidays Travel Services, and HIS Travel and Tours, join 100 exhibitors and 30 sellers in this three-day event, selling the best islands and tourist destinations in the region.
They provide tour packages to Kalanggaman Island, Canigao Island, and Cuatro Islas in Leyte province, Sambawan Island in Biliran province, Limasawa Island and San Pablo Island in Southern Leyte province, Biri Island in Northern Samar province, and Calicoan Island in Eastern Samar province.
Packages are also available for the Ulot Torpedeo Extreme River Boat Ride in Paranas, Sohoton Cave in Basey, tSan Juanico Cruise, and the Leyte Country-side Tour.
The fair, with the theme "Weaving Our Way to Recovery," runs from November 18 to 20, showcasing domestic tourist destinations, products, services, delicacies, pasalubong items, and cultural presentations. A one-stop shop for collaboration in the tourism industry.
In her message at the Kick-off Program of the 1st North Luzon Travel Fair, Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco stated, "The Philippines is ready to receive tourists and investors from all over the world."
Secretary Frasco also thanked President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr. for providing the necessary tools to ensure the Philippines' openness and readiness. He has issued executive orders repealing the outdoor and indoor mask mandates. RT For fully vaccinated individuals entering the Philippines, PCR tests will no longer be required, while unvaccinated foreigners can now enter the Philippines with a negative antigen test.
Furthermore, with the issuance of Proclamation No. 90 reviving holiday economics in the Philippines or long weekends next year, Secretary Frasco is confident that all of our travel agencies, hotels, and airlines will see an increase in bookings.
The activities of this three-day event include a presentation of tourism trends, business-to-business (B2B) networking, artisan demonstrations, and interactive games.
Other regions taking part include the National Capital Region, Regions IV-A and IV-B, Western and Central Visayas, Davao Region, SOCSARGEN, and CARAGA. (DOT-Eastern Visayas)
