The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Tuesday that hand, foot, and mouth disease cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) since October.
Maria Rosario Vergere, Health Officer in Charge and Undersecretary, said that 155 cases of this disease had been reported in Metro Manila.
The majority of those who have been diagnosed with the disease are children who are 11 years old or younger.
According to the health official, despite surpassing 100, there is no reason to declare an outbreak in NCR.
Cases of the disease have been reported in Metro Manila, including Sampaloc, Manila. A clinic in the said area said that he has patients who are stricken with the disease almost every day.
Currently, the Department of Health is monitoring the situation in the NCR to provide immediate assistance to those affected by this disease.
The DOH assured that the situation with this disease is still manageable and that they will continue to work with local government units to assist those affected by Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease.
