TACLOBAN CITY – The Department of Health (DOH) in Eastern Visayas, through the Provincial DOH Office of Northern Samar, held its annual Human Resources for Health (HRH) Nurses Awarding Ceremony on December 15, 2022, at the UEP Gymnatorium in Catarman, Northern Samar.
The ceremony was headed by Dr. Rommel C. Francisco and attended by DOH-EVCHD Assistant Regional Director Dr. Rodolfo Antonio M. Albornoz, as well as other officials from the Northern Samar Provincial Health Office.
Said ceremony was held to recognize the importance of the 342 HRH deployed personnel in Northern Samar to the Department of Health's mission and vision.
The HRH Deployment Program is a DOH flagship initiative aimed at improving access to quality basic healthcare services and ensuring the adequate deployment of healthcare professionals at the local level, particularly in rural, unserved, and underserved communities.
Doctors, nurses, midwives, medical technologists, dentists, public health associates, and other health professionals have been deployed by HRH in Northern Samar. They are sent to assist Local Government Units that cannot hire or retain health workers, have limited resources, or are located in geographically isolated or disadvantaged areas.
The Northern Samar Provincial DOH Office Development Management Officers IV, job order personnel and the 342 HRH deployed personnel in Northern Samar also attended the ceremony. These dedicated healthcare professionals play a critical role in ensuring that the people of Northern Samar have access to quality healthcare services, and their contributions should be recognized and celebrated.
