TACLOBAN CITY – Eastern Visayas Medical Center (EVMC) has been named one of the country's top fifteen Level 3 hospitals. The evaluation was based on six criteria: service provision, safety, quality improvement, customer satisfaction, community service, and response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This year's theme for the DOH Star Awards was "Breaking Barriers of Mediocrity: The Best Pandemic Responders."
The goals of the DOH Star awards were to recognize hospitals that uphold best health practices in service delivery, to encourage more hospitals to achieve excellence and quality in the provision of healthcare services, and to provide stakeholders with a new perspective as the DOH aims to shift from input to output or outcome-based regulation and improve health outcomes.
The award was presented on November 21, 2022, in Cebu City, and given to the EVMC Team, led by Medical Center Chief Dr. Salvador B. Evardone. Also present were Chief Medical Professional Staff Dr. Ma. Lourdes C. Agosto, Dr. Angelica Joyce G. Evardone, Dr. Jenny Lind S. Lesiguez, and Dr. Sherylene A. Molon. (EVMC)
