TACLOBAN CITY – Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) is the second-best university in Eastern Visayas and the 41st-best university in the Philippines, according to UniRank's Top Universities 2022.
This ranking system, which seeks to provide a non-academic league table of the world's top universities based on valid and unbiased web metrics, assists international students and academic staff in understanding the popularity of higher education institutions in other countries.
The university's web presence and popularity, as well as domain trust and quality link popularity, were used to determine the ranking. EVSU's strong performance in these areas contributed to its top ranking on the list.
UniRank's Top Universities in the Philippines were dominated mostly by higher education institutions in the National Capital Region, with the University of the Philippines - Diliman Campus coming in at the top spot.
The ranking system is intended to provide useful information to international students and academic staff considering studying or working at a higher education institution. UniRank is able to provide an unbiased and accurate ranking of universities around the world by analyzing web metrics and other data sources.

UniRank is a global database of higher education institutions recognized and accredited by national or regional bodies such as Ministries of Higher Education or government-recognized accrediting bodies. These institutions must also be officially licensed or authorized to provide at least four-year undergraduate degrees (Bachelor's Degrees) and/or postgraduate degrees (Master's and Doctoral Degrees), as well as higher education courses via traditional, on-site learning formats.
However, UniRank does not include schools that only offer degrees for two years, like community colleges, vocational colleges, and training colleges.
It also excludes distance learning or online-only institutions and institutions that do not provide traditional, on-site higher education courses. UniRank includes and keeps all university and college profiles up to date for free.
EVSU's high ranking reflects the university's dedication to providing high-quality education and developing a strong web presence.
