The Kadiwa ng Pasko program, which began with fewer than twenty locations in Metro Manila, has expanded to include over 350 locations throughout the Philippines. The program aims to support local producers while making goods affordable to the general public.
President Marcos described the Kadiwa ng Pasko program during the launch as "our small way of helping to make this Christmas more enjoyable this year." He added that the program allows the public to purchase needed items at lower prices and gives local producers of small products a market and a place to sell.
The chief executive expressed gratitude to all those who participated in the program, especially micro, small, and medium-sized business owners (MSMEs).
"Thank you to all those who participated. Thank you to all those who worked to make Kadiwa a reality, not only here in Valenzuela but in various locations across the Philippines. It is delightful to see your smiles and to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year," he said.
Participating agencies in the Kadiwa project include the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Department of Agriculture (DA), the National Food Authority (NFA), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) Workers Program of the Department of Labor and Employment.
The program will continue beyond the holiday season, as announced by President Marcos. "The Kadiwa ng Pasko is our small way of helping to make this Christmas more enjoyable this year. That's why this, the Kadiwa, not only allows the public to buy needed items at lower prices but also gives local producers of small products a market and a place to sell," he said.
