TACLOBAN CITY – The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in Region 8 launched Oplan Byaheng Ayos - Pasko 2022, a new initiative to ensure passenger safety during the holiday season.
According to Veronica Reposar, Transportation Officer-2 at the LTFRB Regional Office 8, the operation is intended to ensure that passengers can safely travel to their destinations during Christmas.
LTFRB officials will inspect vehicles, as they have in previous Oplan operations, to ensure compliance with LTFRB policies.
This includes inspecting vehicles for proper maintenance and safety features and ensuring that drivers adhere to traffic laws and regulations.
Along with vehicle inspections, LTFRB officials will inspect terminals for priority lanes for people with disabilities (PWDs), pregnant women, and senior citizens, as well as the overall efficiency of the terminal's system.
In addition to vehicle and terminal inspections, Oplan Byaheng Ayos 2022 will prioritize the implementation of health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19, which includes requiring all passengers on board vehicles to wear face masks and enforcing proper ventilation and sanitation measures.
Officials from the LTFRB encourage all passengers to cooperate with the operation and adhere to the necessary health protocols to ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday season. (Source: Bombo Radyo)
