TACLOBAN CITY – The Samar State University (SSU) Dance Troupe wowed the judges and audience alike at the annual "Dance Dayo 2022: Step Up" competition held on December 9, 2022, at the Mary Ngo Auditorium in Catbalogan City.
The competition, hosted by the Saint Paul School of Professional Studies (SPSPS), featured dance troupes from universities across Eastern Visayas.
Despite arriving late at the venue and performing last, the SSU Dance Troupe delivered a captivating performance that amazed the audience. Their synchronized movements and energetic choreography impressed the judges, who awarded them the top prize.
Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) Tanauan Campus placed second, followed by a tie for third place between the Leyte Normal University and the St. Therese Educational Foundation, Inc. (STEFTI).
The "Dance Dayo" competition is part of SPSPS's annual event, which aims to showcase the talent and creativity of dance troupes in the region. It was attended by a full house of enthusiastic spectators, who cheered on their favorite performers throughout the evening.
