TACLOBAN CITY – The Tacloban City Government, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office, held its annual Children's Christmas Party and Gift Giving event at the Tacloban Astrodome on December 9, 2022.
The event was graced by City Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez, City Social Welfare Officer Chona Bahin, and Hiraya Foundation President Raymund Romualdez.
According to Marlyn Dugos, DCW II Early Childhood Care and Development Program Coordinator, the event is held annually to provide children from across the city with an opportunity to come together and celebrate the holiday season.
This year, 2,660 children from 62 Day Care Centers attended the event, which featured food and presents for the jolly children.
Parents were also invited to attend the event and support their children. A raffle was held for those who participated, adding an extra element of excitement to the festivities.
In his heartfelt speech, Mayor Romualdez wished everyone a "Merry Christmas," thanking all involved in organizing the event.
It was heartwarming for the children from across the city to come together to celebrate the holiday season. The City Government should be commended for its dedication to supporting the community and providing opportunities for families to come together and enjoy the holiday season.
